Candidate for Georgia Secretary of State Vernon Jones is the subject of today’s post, and we’ll analyze his history and weigh his chances in the upcoming election. Vernon Jones is a former Democrat turned Republican in 2021 as part of Trump’s “America First” movement. He’s served as a Georgia state representative for more than two terms and has previously been endorsed by Trump for a senate run. With that brief description of Vernon, I already believe that he’s a strong candidate for Secretary of State given his listed qualifications. I believe that he’ll be receiving an official endorsement from Donald Trump during his run due to Trump’s history as a benefactor to Vernon’s campaigns. More than ever an endorsement from Trump is essentially a golden ticket to locking in a republican nomination for an election. I believe Vernon is likely to defeat any Democrat opponents for secretary for state because of Georgia’s increasingly red voter trends.  

I believe that Vernon’s motive for running in this election is to try and entrench himself in the current MAGA movement. Republicans currently have the majority of power in D.C. and Vernon’s history as a billionaire and Trump associate naturally inclines him towards wanting to join the party in power. I’m not sure how far Vernon Jones’s political ambitions will go, but if his attempt to become governor of Georgia is any indicator, he’s definitely looking to rise up the ranks. As always, stay warm and keep an eye out for more candidate reviews!
